FROM THE INSTITUTE
Founded on 23 September 1992, the Liszt Institute - Tallinn Hungarian Cultural Centre is the Hungarian state's diplomatic mission abroad, whose main task is to promote Hungarian culture in Estonia.
We organise concerts, performances, presentations and other events with the aim of showcasing Hungary's constantly evolving and diverse culture. In this way, we can foster cooperation between Estonian and Hungarian artists and cultural figures, and hope that more Estonians will find their way to Hungary as a result. A special highlight is the contact with the Hungarian community living in Estonia. Through dance clubs and activities for children, we offer entertainment and creative pastimes for even the youngest citizens.
The Liszt Institute regularly cooperates with Estonian cultural institutes and festival organisers, including the Estonian Institute, Fenno-Ugria, Jazzkaar and PÖFF. The Institute has also been a member of the Tallinn EUNIC, the European Union Network of National Institutes for Culture, since its inception, which offers further opportunities for cooperation.
In addition, we offer the opportunity to learn Hungarian and support the activities of a Hungarian language lecturer at the University of Tartu. The institute also has a library and an art gallery.
