How to find us?
We are located on the right bank of the Pärnu River. You can get to us by bus, car, bike or on foot. Parking is free, and there are plenty of places for bicycles in the museum’s beautiful gardens. It takes 20-25 minutes to walk from the centre of Pärnu to the museum.
The main entrance to the museum is on Jannsen Street. Entering through this door, you enter the classroom of the former school building, which also houses the museum’s cash desk.
To enter the museum in a wheelchair, pushchair or bicycle, it is more convenient to use the gate on Jannsen Street and the museum’s back entrance.
A museum staff member can also sell you a Night of Museums ticket at the gate and help you find the right entrance.
What to expect?
The permanent exhibition of the Koidula Museum is located in the museum. on the 1st floor and is wheelchair accessible. The temporary exhibition is located in The museum is on the 2nd floor and can only be accessed via a narrow wooden staircase.
The museum has an eye-operated amplifier and a touch screen in each themed room, with both reading and listening files.
There is also an invertebrate toilet in the garden courtyard.

Open exhibitions
Permanent exhibition at the Koidula Museum introduces the life and work of two great figures of the Estonian Awakening - Johann Voldemar Jannsen and his daughter Lydia Koidula. The modern literary museum is housed in the former Pärnu Ülejõe schoolhouse, which was the home and office of the Jannsens.
On the second floor of the museum building is a travelling exhibition of Eveline von Maydell's work by the National Archives. "A life full of colours".
