The Salvation Army, which operates in the house every day, will welcome visitors to the former cinema hall. The film will take you on a journey through time, with fascinating historical footage of Kalamaja. Admission is free, no need to register in advance.
21.00-22.00 Comb kazoo workshop in the education room of Kalamaja Museum. Come and learn how to surprise your loved ones with an unexpected instrument!
22.00-00.00 Night tour of manhole covers. A late night walk along Vana-Kalamaja Street to celebrate Museum Night. The aim is to get to know the manhole covers on this street. This year, several of the manhole covers on this street will be 99 years old. Let’s wish them a happy birthday! If there are any other noteworthy sites or stories worth telling, we will tell them too.
The tour will start at 22.00 from the Baltic Station at the information desk on platform 1 and end at Kalaranna Street. The tour lasts about 2 hours and is led by Kalamaja community member and expert on manhole covers Andres Siplane. You can buy a ticket for the tour Fienta (5€/7€/Museum card) NB! The tour is in Estonian.
22.00-23.00 Hour of Silence. How does silence sound? At the end of an evening saturated with sounds and as a counterpoint to the Eurovision Song Contest echoing across the city, Tallinn City Museum branches will turn off all sound installations during the final hour of Museum Night. This allows visitors to listen to the natural sounds of the historic buildings. We also invite visitors to turn off their devices, speak more quietly, and be considerate of those sensitive to noise.
