Program
Night of Museums 2025 at the Computer Museum - A night with a book!
18.00 - 23.00 admission 1 euro, on Museum Night cash only.A chance to try out the old games is included in the price.
Open since 2005, we are the oldest and only private museum of computing in Estonia.
Everything is changing, but we are staying, and that is the most important thing for us - to be ourselves, to continue this great work of life and to be open to all comers.
2025 is our anniversary year, the museum is 20 years old!
Over 1000 exhibits from the 1960s to 2010 live in our small and cosy spaces. years. The exhibits are not behind glass, but free-standing - so you can get a better view and maybe even find your first computer.
This year's Museum Night theme, "There are books in the night", sounds like a good one: books, magazines, documentation and guides are an essential part of the Computer Museum. It has been somewhat relegated to the back burner for several years, with publications waiting to be entered into the database, sorted and just a good place to sit comfortably and read something.
We now have a separate reading corner, the piles of magazines have been sorted, books have more space and light - come and browse and delve into history :)
The Computer Museum also has a special gem to show you this time, and we're only doing it on Museum Night: at the end of 2024, we visited Narva and found a unique and most important exhibit from the remains of the former "Baltijets" factory - the original project documentation of the Estonian computer JUKU.
It had been abandoned there for decades and forgotten in the darkness, but fortunately it is still there, legible, and now we keep and study it carefully.
All the usual activities are available as usual - see, take pictures, try out old computer games :)
- The museum is located on the site of a former factory, a very authentic and fitting place for our theme, and the industrial surroundings are beautiful and very peaceful.
- Another special feature of the Computer Museum is the "640KB" museum shop, which is part of the museum experience. The selection includes computer and video game themed t-shirts, either hand-painted or printed with our own computer themed designs.
