Program

The exhibition house welcomes visitors from 18.00-23.00. The permanent exhibition and temporary exhibition is open, focusing on historical outerwear - fur coats, robes and long-legs - from the collections of the Viljandi Museum and the Heimtali Museum of the Estonian National Museum. On the second floor of the exhibition house, a display of the museum's publications will be open for this evening only.

The focus of the exhibition space is the animal of the year - the moose. The exhibits cover the moose's habitat, behaviour and role in our nature and cultural heritage. In addition, the film 'Old Man and the Moose' will be screened.

In the research room, you can see older and rarer works from the museum's book collection. At 19.00 they will be presented to children and at 21.00 to adults. This is a unique opportunity to take a closer look at and browse these publications.

In this workshop, you can make a pocket-sized 8-16-page book layout with Marge Robam. The workshops start in the kiln room at 18.00, 19.00 and 20.00. Up to 10 people can participate at a time.

At 20:00, the author Gert Kiiler will present his book "The Cat Who Could Not Growl". We'll hear how the book came about, where the inspiration came from, who the characters are and what the author's writing process is like - where and how do the thoughts start?

Weather permitting, there will be a café in the courtyard of the museum, serving handmade ice cream, homemade pastries and warm drinks.

You are welcome!
