Program

The museum has been home to three well-known Estonian writers at different times: Marie Under, Artur Adson and Friedebert Tuglas. The museum has preserved the atmosphere of the house, which, when visited, feels as if the writer has gone for a walk under the pines of Nõmme and will soon walk through the door again. In addition to the house, the visitor can enjoy the large garden, which is inspired by the vision of the house’s inhabitants.

The Under and Tuglas Literary Institute of the Estonian Academy of Sciences is a place where different eras, people, poetry, literature and art come together. They are all united by the desire to pass on, to leave behind and to say something, because they all have their own voices.

A new exhibition is open as part of the Night of Museums “Voices in the Daily Evening”. Voices can be heard in “in its ‘normal form’ on records, radio and TV, or in the many novels, poems, artworks and photographs, and why not in the typewriter in both senses of the word. Come and discover what voices were heard, seen, read or even created by Under, Adson and the Tuglas!

The museum of the Under and Tuglas Literary Institute is open on Museum Night, 16 May, at 18.00. –21.00. The museum tour with an exhibition on the Night of Museums theme starts at 19.00.

Accessibility information:

Bus 5 (stop Leesika) and 18 (stop Liiva), from Õismägi by bus 36 (stop Kirde). There is one parking space in front of the building.

There is a staircase at the front of the house and a wooden staircase leading to the second floor, with a handrail on either side.
