The exhibition "A Journey Through Soviet Everyday Life" is a humorous glimpse into a period of time we can freely mock today. Those who remember can recall the absurdity of those times and tell their children about it.

The exhibition also includes interesting artefacts from the history of our house. The Co-operative Construction Office, or KEK for short, was a co-operative construction organisation founded with funds from the collective farms. In the 1980s, many KEKs across Estonia built new buildings. The Saare KEK building, completed in 1982, is one of the most outstanding examples of Soviet-era Constructivist architecture in Europe. The building was designed by architect Marika Lõoke and is a National Monument of Cultural Heritage.

After decades of vacancy, the building has been reopened, and the well-preserved architectural elements can be enjoyed in the building's three-storey lobby. Today, the building, which was scheduled for demolition a few years ago, has undergone a major renovation. The imposing SAARE KEK is now the Centre for Good Living.

Children under the age of 7 can get in free of charge, for others from 18.00 ticket €1.
We are open until 23.00 on Museum Night.
