Program

The Mati Uni Museum is a unique cultural venue that offers an insight into one of Estonian most influential writers and directors, and is located in the house where the writer himself lived. The museum offers an insight into the life and work of Mati Unt in the wider context of literature, theatre and culture, and a better understanding of his role in Estonian cultural life.

The exhibition includes the writer’s manuscripts, books, photographs, personal items and archive materials that reveal his personality, thoughts and creative process. Visitors will get an idea of how Unt’s works were created and what ideas and themes inspired him. The museum is a nice discovery for literature lovers and an interesting cultural stopover for both young and old.

In the museum there’s also the Untium research room, as the museum’s role is to engage more broadly with the study of 1960s-1970s literature.

Come and take a walk through the rooms where groundbreaking ideas in Estonian cultural history were born!
