It’s a little over 50 km from the centre of Tallinn to us, and it takes about 1 hour by car. From the centre of Rapla it is 16 km and by car it takes about 15 minutes.
You can come to our museum from far away with your own transport. It is possible to park your car or bus in the parking lot of the main building of the Mahtra Folk Museum or in the parking lot of the Juuru Parish Hall. Those coming from further away can come on foot or by bicycle.
The main building of the Mahtra Peasantry Museum has a low external staircase with two steps. A pram or wheelchair can also be used to get from the foyer to the exhibition hall and the toilet (the disabled toilet is located in Hall 2 of the permanent exhibition).

Open kl. 11.00 - 23.00. In addition to the permanent exhibition, you can also take a peek at the new book exhibition and explore our small museum shop.
From kl. From 16.00 onwards, rugs and plaids woven on looms will be performed on the singing stage in the museum courtyard. There will be an opportunity for spectators to buy something to take home.
Cl. 19.00 Book exhibition "One beautiful Story- and Teaching-Book" opening. Presentation by Rait Talvoy, the author of the exhibition.
During the evening, you can also take part in the quiz, which has become a tradition, this time with a book theme.

Open from 18.00-19.00 and to the public after the opening of the book exhibition in the main building.
In the historic parish hall you can see modern open storerooms and the exhibitions "The parish official's room" and "The Mahtra War and the Mahtra Museum".
