"How much of a 13th-century islander* are you?" - A facial reconstruction app compares two 13th-century reconstructions of living islanders! The app is part of the exhibition "Eye to Eye with a Medieval Islander". The exhibition presents the life of 13th-14th century islanders. What did they look like and what could they do? Who ruled Saaremaa? What did the island's matron's costumes look like? Did the men wear trousers or not? New discoveries and new research methods are bringing us ever closer to the people of the past. The exhibition "Eye to Eye with a Medieval Islander" is based on analyses of ancient DNA and isotopes, reconstructions based on skulls and skeletons, archival sources. In the exhibition space, the different studies become a coherent narrative of medieval man and his world.

Museum night admission 1 euro. Children up to 8 years free.

NB! For security reasons, temporary exhibitions on the 1st floor are closed on Museum Night.
