Program

Museum night at the Kiek in de Kök Insurance Museum

One of Tallinn's best-known landmarks and the city's tallest defence tower is the first artillery turret in our history, the Kiek in de Kök, which has six floors of exhibition. The tower's new permanent exhibition "Fortified city, strong fortress" tells the story of how brave citizens of Tallinn have fortified and defended their hometown throughout history.

On Museum Night, we will present to the public for the first time the newly completed audio guide to the new permanent exhibition., the content of which varies somewhat from language to language, depending on the unique style of each author. In Estonian he wrote Indrek Hargla, in Finnish Anneli Kanto, in Latvian Contra, in English George Franchi and in Russian David Vseviov.

The exhibition "Dwarf books in the cannon" is open in the lobby of Kiek in de Kök. The exhibition includes the smallest Estonian-language booklets from the collections of Indrek Oper and Aku Sorainen, and a total of 60 dwarf books in seven other languages. The smallest are the 10 mm high Gospels in Italian.
