Accessibility
The Kadriorg Art Museum is located in Kadriorg Palace on A. Weizenberg Street and is accessible by public transport, car, bicycle and on foot.
For visitors with reduced mobility
Wheelchair access to the museum is via the ramp to the left of the main door.
Indoors, there are portable ramps/telescopic ramps with a groove width of 180 mm for crossing the stairs, which can be installed with the assistance of the museum security staff. Due to the special nature of the telescopic ramp, it cannot be used with invar scooters, tricycles or low-bottomed and heavy battery-powered mobility equipment. A wheelchair can be used in the museum if desired.
The reversible ramps provide access to the museum shop, ticket office and lift, as well as to the café and the sculpture collection and toilet on the ground floor.
The castle’s main hall, permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions are located on the second and third floors and can also be reached by lift.
Unfortunately, the exhibition of Russian art on the third floor in the sea wing of the castle is not wheelchair-accessible, as there are only stairs.
For visually impaired visitors
The museum can be visited with a guide dog.
The visit will be supported by interpreters, an audio guide and a tactile model of the castle.
Program
On the night, the museum's permanent exhibitions - European and Russian art from the 16th and 19th centuries on the second and third floors of the palace and the sculpture collection on the ground floor of the open storage room - will be open.
Special exhibition ART+RAAMS
In the Banqueting Hall, on the second floor of the museum, a special exhibition "ART+BOOKS" will be open on the Night of Museums, presenting the technical and content characteristics of art books and exhibition catalogues, from bindings to print and paper, as well as the most common genres. Visitors will be able to take a closer look at the older and newer publications of the Art Museum of Estonia, and from 18-21, students from the Kadriorg German Gymnasium and museum staff will give explanations.
There will also be a sale on art books! There is a selection of worthwhile literature to be bought at particularly low prices on Museum Night!
The exhibition "ART + FRAMEWORK" is a collaboration between teachers and students of Kadriorg German Secondary School and Kadriorg Art Museum.
Short studies "How to read art?"
In the permanent exhibition halls, visitors will be welcomed by the museum's experienced guides, who will tell the stories depicted in the works of art at selected times. They will tell the stories of Achilles and the Burning of Troy, Diana and Acteon, Cupid and Psyche, the prophet Elijah, the story of the wedding of Cana, and the memories of Grand Duchess Olga Nikolaevna's youth.
The short tours take place every half hour in different rooms of the museum, with more detailed instructions available at the museum.
