Program

On 17 May, the museum will be open from 17-23.

Visitors to the Haapsalu Town Hall will be able to see the permanent exhibition "Resort Guide", which tells the story of the development of Haapsalu from the discovery of the healing mud of Haapsalu to the Second World War. Inside the permanent exhibition, there is a mini-exhibition "Teaches without speaking?", opened to celebrate the Year of the Estonian Book. The exhibition features 75 works from the book competition for schoolchildren in Lääne County. In total, almost 140 entries were received for the competition, all of which have been exhibited on the museum's website (https://salm.ee/raamatu-aasta/).

In addition, in the Mayor's Office you can get acquainted with the life and work of Dr. Hans Alver, the long-time mayor of Haapsalu and the creator of the modern Haapsalu look. The exhibition "The Fateful Year 1944 in Lääne County" features a number of artefacts related to the Great Escape that took place 80 years ago, as well as stories of people associated with the Lääne County.
