Entrance 1 euro
Accessibility information:
The Estonian Sports and Olympic Museum is located in the centre of Tartu, at Rüütli 15. You can get to the museum on foot, by bike/cycling, by public transport or by car.
– Accessibility for people with reduced mobility
Wheelchair access to the Sports Museum is through the courtyard along the ramp on the Magasin Street side. The entrance from Knight Street is made more difficult by the fact that the door is rather heavy and there are a few steps to climb when entering the door. For help, you can ring the bell on the right side of the door.
There is a lift to move between the three floors of the building and the exhibition is wheelchair accessible. A large number of the interactive displays and attractions in the exhibitions are also at a lower height, making them easily accessible to visitors in wheelchairs.
The museum has an inverted basin on the ground floor.
– Accessibility for visually impaired people
Guide dogs are allowed to visit the museum.
Audio guide
You can listen to additional stories from the permanent exhibition of the Sports Museum via the digital companion web app on your smartphone or borrow suitable devices from the Museum cash desk on the ground floor. The use of the digital companion and the loan of equipment (phone, headphones) is FREE of charge for museum visitors.
The audio guide in Estonian is read by Rasmus Mägi, Estonia’s best men’s athlete of 2021, Howard Frier in English, Yulia Belyayeva, Olympic gold medallist in Russian, Laura Ikauniece, Latvia’s best heptathlete in Latvian, and Andrii Voinalovych, Ukraine’s best basketball player in Ukrainian.
– Accessibility for people with hearing impairment
Inside the museum, signposts will help you move around the building. A continuous yellow line pasted on the wall guides you through the exhibition from start to finish. You can find out about the exhibits and attractions on the labels next to them and on the texts on the walls.
Digital companion audio links (additional audio links to the permanent exhibition of the Sports Museum) are textually available in the web application.
