Entrance fee 1 EURO
Museum open during operating hours 15:00 - 21:00
Program
Guided tours take place at 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00. The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Pre-booking is not necessary.
The tour of the weather station starts at the observation field, where you can learn about both modern and historical measuring instruments with a guide. You will learn about weather records and interesting cases, as well as how the climate in Estonia has changed over the 160 years of measurement history.
Next, you will move into the weather centre building, where you can find out what’s inside the ball at the top of the high tower and how you can use the balloon to observe the weather.
As the theme of this year’s Night of Museums is “There are voices in the night”, attention will also be paid to weather phenomena that are accompanied by sound. At the observation field, it is worth being particularly attentive and keeping your ears to the ground, because after the tour you can take part in a guessing game and identify sounds produced by weather phenomena or measuring devices.
Accessibility information:
Parking is available around the weather centre building, with a designated disabled parking space in front of the building. The observation field and the building is accessible by wheeled transport. The building has both conventional and disabled toilets.
By public transport, you can use bus 62.
