The Chuvash Folk Culture Museum is an institution that organises its work on the basis of the idea of popularising the culture of the Chuvash people in Estonia, introducing the traditions and customs of the Chuvash people, the history of the development and preservation of the Chuvash language. It collects and preserves ancient Chuvash household utensils, documents and photographic materials. Participates in events that introduce Estonian people and visitors to their culture through decorative and applied arts, organises various events, conferences, master classes and cooperates with representatives of different nationalities in the framework of various city and national events. We will present ancient handicrafts and modern jewellery by the masters of Chuvashia. This year, we will focus on Chuvash literature and look at the new books available in the museum library, including both old and recent works. Visitors will have a great opportunity to discover the cuisine of the Chuvash people, explore old family recipes and discover new ways to prepare simple dishes for the family.
An important part of the work is to maintain ties with compatriots around the world, with the homeland, and to assist in preserving the national identity of compatriots living in Estonia. Providing help and support to all in their search for information on Chuvash culture, information, family traditions. We offer all those who are interested the opportunity to use the museum's library to improve their knowledge of the Chuvash people, our culture, traditions, history and religion.
