Program

The museum is open until 23.00 on museum night.

On this year's Museum Night, we want to offer visitors a peaceful stroll through a spring farm, garden and riverbank - the beauty of the moment, birdsong and pleasant emotions.

We've created a number of themed "nests" in the Kurgja, where everyone can choose a place to be and explore. Whether it's sitting in the garden and exploring the plants, taking a peek at the world of old books or spending time in the children's room, there are plenty of options.

  • History loop: an exhibition of the treasures of the Carl Robert Jakobson Library awaits visitors in the Sakala Room. You can see very old books, including works from Jakobson's childhood. For the first time, visitors will also be able to see books on which Jakobson has written notes in his own handwriting or dedications to his wife Juliet. On display will be mini storybooks he bought for his children. The Jakobson Library will be introduced during a guided tour.
  • Garden Nest: in the museum's garden you can ask for advice on farm plants, buy seedlings and browse books on gardening.
  • Animal Nest: the museum's animals await visitors in the shed - a chance to get up close to our animals.
  • A romance corner: a table full of romance novels is set up in the courtyard for leisurely browsing or reading. If there is interest, there will be a round table discussion on the topic "Romance novels - positive emotions or escapism?".
  • Children's nest: in the children's room you can read, draw and colour. In the garden, you can use worksheets to find and colour a plant that matches the task.

The roe deer café and outdoor café are open
Horse rides take place from 19.00 to 21.00
All the buildings of the museum are also open (the ferry is open until 21.00).

Museum Night in Kurgja is an invitation to slow down and let books, nature and the spring farm landscape take you away for a moment. Come as yourself - and leave perhaps a little calmer.

There are books in the cucumber night.

You can also come to the Night of the Museum by bus. The bus is free of charge, seats are limited.
