Program

The coins and banknotes on display at the Eesti Pank Museum are the voice of the COUNTRIES and COMMUNITIES, highlighting important themes that reflect the culture and values of these countries and communities. If you look a little closer at the money between your fingers, what is it really about? And how does one event, person, building or animal or another end up in our wallet, in either a crawling or a tinkling form? Who’s voice is heard in the clatter of the crabs, and whose voice decides? A special Museum Night programme at the Eesti Pank Museum from 18-21 invites you to think!

Good museum worker!

– The SEARCH GAME will help you discover the most fascinating stories about coins from different eras;
– an interactive Coin CART will give you the chance to express your opinion on who or what you think should definitely end up on a coin representing Estonia;
– the youngest can design and colour a picture of their OWN Coin.

The special programme at the Eesti Pank Museum (Estonia pst 11, Tallinn) is free of charge.

Prizes will be drawn among the participants in the search game.

Oled oodatud!

Important info

As institutions in their own right, national central banks evolved out of the need to regulate and regulate the circulation of money (the issuance of banknotes and coins) and interbank lending. Eesti Pank’s primary task as a traditional central bank is to maintain price stability. We also carry out the other main tasks of a central bank: organising the cash circulation, supporting and arranging transfers from one commercial bank to another, participating in financial stability, managing Estonia’s foreign reserves, compiling financial sector and balance of payments statistics, and advising the government on Estonian and euro area economic policy issues.
