Program
This year’s theme is ‘Voices in the Night’, but wind and water, animals and birds, trees and flowers have a voice alongside people.
Flowers have always been cherished in Aks, and the most prized of these have always been roses!
But why is this and what is the mystery of roses?
Why was the 15th-century war between the Lancaster and York families over the English throne called the War of the Roses? What did the Rose say to the Little Prince?
What do the beautiful blossoms of roses tell us today?
Thus, the visitors can enjoy the colourful exhibition “LOVING ROSES”, a joint effort of the Äksi community, created just for this evening, where we will introduce the charm of roses and the rose-patterned objects of the people of Äksi.
There is a donation box in the museum!
In addition, the Äksi Book Club Tolstõi Toi will organise a discussion on Antoine de Saint-Exupery ‘s The Little Prince in the conference hall of the Ice Age Centre at 19.00, open to all. All book lovers are welcome! Prior reading of the book is recommended!!!!
Located in the same building as Lake Saadjärvi Nature Centre. Lake Shop is open until 21.00.
As a prelude to the Night of Museums, the Äksi Mixed Choir will perform a spring concert “Gifting Roses…” at 12.00 on 10 May at the Ice Age Centre.
See you in Äksi!
