Program

The Ice Age Centre is an interactive experience centre located on the shores of Lake Saadjärv, where visitors can explore the story of the Ice Age, nature and climate through engaging exhibitions and themed tours. On Museum Night, we focus on sounds and voices that have shaped nature and our understanding of the world.

During the evening, you can listen to stories and reflect on which sounds have endured through time and which have faded. The programme is designed for families as well as anyone who wishes to spend a meaningful evening discovering and reflecting.

Themed tour “Voices of the Ice Age”

Takes place at 18:30 and 20:00.
We explore what sounds ancient animals made and how they communicated with each other. We will try different animal sounds and imagine what the soundscape of that time might have been like.

Raft rides on Lake Saadjärv

Depart every 30 minutes from 18:00 to 21:00 (ticket 4 € per person, free for children under 4).
The evening lake offers a different kind of experience, with a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere where the sounds of nature can be truly appreciated.

Next to the centre is the Finnish Boys Room Museum, where the Äksi Book Club will host an open discussion at 19:00 on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s “The Little Prince”. All book lovers are welcome.

The café is open throughout the evening.
