Program
The history of the Tallinn School of Economics dates back to 1906, when Gustav Narusbek founded a private trade school that accepted both boys and girls. This academic year, the school celebrates its 120th birthday. From the new school year, the Economic School will be known as AVARA, the College of Business and Service Administration.
The preserved museum objects of the Tallinn School of Economics are located in different rooms of the museum – documents, computer equipment and technical tools. Donated notebooks and works from different years can be seen in the museum. The oldest book in the museum is a textbook on civil law from 1831.
As Eesti Raamat celebrated its 500th anniversary, you can also see old books such as the New Testament from 1857, the Catechism from 1917, the Songbook from 1912.
As part of the Night of Museums, you can watch a documentary film about the history of Tallinn School of Economics made for its 115th anniversary in the school’s lobby and browse a digital photo gallery of pictures of the graduating classes.
This year’s Museum Night motto is “There are voices in the night”, so you can listen to folk music played by Jann Olt.
