Program
The interior museum in the neo-Baroque house built in the mid-19th century for the governor of Kadriorg Castle (the Castellan) introduces the last home of Eduard Vilde (1865-1933), one of the most popular and influential Estonian writers of the 20th century. Among other things, it displays original Luther furniture that was a gift from the state to the writer. Of course, you can also learn about the writer’s biography and the women who played a great role in his life, and see his travel adventures in an outdoor exhibition in front of the house.
Temporarily, you can also see the most important artefacts from the A.H. Tammsaare Museum.
On the second floor of the house – in the Castellan gallery – an exhibition of book covers for A. H. Tammsaare’s “Truth and Justice”, part I is open. The covers are specially created for the 100th anniversary of the first edition of the book and they will go to a public auction in the Vaal Gallery in October.
